The most beautiful times of day to hike is undoubtedly the morning and evening, when the sun is low in the sky. The rich colors and long shadows are always a sight to be seen. This painting is of an evening hike along the PCT in Northern California, just north of Sierra City.
About Elizabeth Mordensky
Hello! My name is Elizabeth, though many of my friends know me as EtchASketch, a trail name I earned while hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2013. I have been hiking for about as long as I can remember, and creating art for even longer than that. Naturally these two loves overlap, and while my trail name was given to me for simple, fun sketches in trail journals along the 2100+ mile trek, at home I love bringing nature to life through any artistic means I can get my hands on. From paintings to paper-cuttings, I can't get enough of trying to capture mother nature's world through art of my own.
