Artist's Description

"Unlikely Perch" is a print of a pencil drawing I completed, referencing a photo I took on the Pacific Crest Trail. This tree was aside the trail in central Washington and stood out to me as a prime example of perseverance. The blank background emphasizes the precarious position of this tree. This was this first piece I completed in my pursuit of creating a book of drawings and paintings of the Pacific Crest Trail.

About Elizabeth Mordensky

Elizabeth Mordensky

Hello! My name is Elizabeth, though many of my friends know me as EtchASketch, a trail name I earned while hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2013. I have been hiking for about as long as I can remember, and creating art for even longer than that. Naturally these two loves overlap, and while my trail name was given to me for simple, fun sketches in trail journals along the 2100+ mile trek, at home I love bringing nature to life through any artistic means I can get my hands on. From paintings to paper-cuttings, I can't get enough of trying to capture mother nature's world through art of my own.
