Grizzly 399 is a true gem of what an intact ecosystem can provide. At age 23 she popped out of her den with four cubs in tow, and did an amazing job raising them through their first year. This painting celebrates this amazing bear and her family. She lives in Grand Teton National Park, which is a part of the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

Hello! My name is Elizabeth, though many of my friends know me as EtchASketch, a trail name I earned while hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2013. I have been hiking for about as long as I can remember, and creating art for even longer than that. Naturally these two loves overlap, and while my trail name was given to me for simple, fun sketches in trail journals along the 2100+ mile trek, at home I love bringing nature to life through any artistic means I can get my hands on. From paintings to paper-cuttings, I can't get enough of trying to capture mother nature's world through art of my own.
